Lawyer in the Pool!

I've gotta report to jury duty tomorrow and I'm hoping I either get on a jury panel fairly quickly or I'm let go early. In case you don't think the former is possible for a lawyer, think again. About four years ago, I was selected to be an alternate juror in a murder trial.

I did a jury trial back in August, and I left an attorney (and an NRA member) on the panel. I was plaintiff's counsel.

In New Jersey, 8 jurors are seated for a civil trial, and two are selected (at random) to be alternates before they retire.

When the alternates were selected, the NRA member and the lawyer were chosen.

We won.
