In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court rejected President Bush's attempt to literally make the State of Texas submit to international law and set aside the criminal conviction of a Mexican national who committed rape and murder.

He is thinking internationally....What do you do if no one claims you? He was not a citizen of the United States...His country of origin needs to be notified. They weren't. The World Court (yes...stupid, I know) stated that as an international mandate. And if you think about it...its an OK idea as long the trial,sentence and appeal remains in the country of the crime. The President was trying to get his home state to adhear to the world court ruling...the supreme court ruled correctly that he had no right. But the Idea had merit in a 'lead by example' world view.
Side note: The perp is a scumbag and should sizzle...but that not what this was about.
