Courting Disaster

"No self-respecting country would elect as president a man who spent 20 years taking spiritual guidance from a pastor who openly hates the country. And no country that loses its self respect can anticipate a bright future." - Paul Mirengoff

"[Wright] represents the best of what the Black church has to offer..."
- Barack Obama circa 1995

"Change" You Can Believe In?

If Obama wins, I'll be getting on my knees and pray that people who voted for him won't get fooled again.

Completing His Obamian Transformation

While noted Obama enthusiast Doug Kmiec doesn't explicitly say in this interview that he approves of the fundamentally idiotic judicial philosophies of Supreme Court Justices David Souter and Stephen Breyer (who are the kind of justices Kmiec says a President Obama would look to appoint) he definitely implies such an approval (h/t):
"These justices are individuals who tend to examine closely the consequences of legal decisions in terms of their effects on the larger society, as well as to examine a legal outcome in terms of the specifics of a particular record."

"Justice Souter, for example, prides himself on not resolving any case other than the one before him," Kmiec said, "whereas Justice Breyer has a little bit more of an academic scope – in that he not only decides the case in front of him in a pragmatic way, but also tries to analyze what that practical solution would mean for related areas of the law – for example, he’s an expert in administrative law."

Voter Fraud in Central Cali?

Via Michelle Malkin comes news of a couple of facilities for the developmentally disabled in Central California that have apparently been coaching several of its adult patients/clients to register and vote for The One. Administrators at these facilities, of course, deny doing anything wrong or exercising any sort of undue influence. Parents disagree.
"I have an issue with them going behind my back. It was wrong," said Rod Homen. Homen's daughter Shelley, 26, spends the day at CAPS PLUS in Manteca but lives at home with him in Escalon.

Homen said Shelley has the intellectual capacity of a seven-year-old. He discovered she had voted absentee after paperwork arrived at the house from the county registrar.

The mother of another CAPS PLUS client was equally outraged. "It really made me mad," said Diana Hanson.

"She doesn't understand it. She's not mentally capable of voting," said Hanson of her daughter Kara, 23, who has Down Syndrome.

Obama is Stupid or a Liar

National Review's Ed Whelan thinks the latter with respect to Obama's false assertion that differing judicial philosophies among members of the Supreme Court don't matter.

Personally, I like the "both/and" approach to evaluating Barry.

Huffington Post Blogger Commits Murder, Then Suicide

Tragic to say the least. But given the lack of dignity and value Ms. Burger presumptively afforded to human life, particularly the unborn, as well as her willingness to live a gravely immoral lifestyle, I can't really say it's all that surprising. (via)

Lawsuit Challenging Whether Obama is Natural Born Citizen Dismissed

Judge says the guy who filed the lawsuit, Phillip Berg, lacks standing to sue. More broadly, regular American citizens apparently cannot legally challenge whether an individual who is running for President possesses the constitutionally mandated requirements for that office.

Obamoids are Stuck on Stupid

Socialist is code for Black

I don't think he's kidding, either. (Don't be surprised if the linked to post gets taken down and thrown into the memory hole). (via)

Biden Speaking with Forked Tongue...Again

Good Lord, Biden is an Imbecile (Part II)

You may have already read about Joe the Senator's rather foolishly expressed guarantee at a fundraiser in Seattle that within the first six months of an Obama Administration, there will be an international crisis generated somewhere against the U.S. to "test the mettle" of The One.

Of the things Biden said, I especially like the following because they not only inadvertently make the case against voting for the Obama/Biden ticket, they show just how much of a complete imbecile Joe the Senator really is:
"I've forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I'm not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it," the Senate Foreign Relations chairman said of Obama. "This guy has it. But he's gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, 'Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?' We're gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I'm asking you now, I'm asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you're going to have to reinforce us."

"There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, 'Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don't know about that decision'," Biden continued. "Because if you think the decision is sound when they're made, which I believe you will when they're made, they're not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they're popular, they're probably not sound."

Yes, Biden isn't a Pope John Paul II Guy

But neither is he a Pope John XXIII kind of guy as he mindlessly asserts. (via)

I Always Liked Stormin' Norman Better Than Powell Anyway

'Course the Bear's endorsement of McCain was back in January when the GOP nomination was still being contested, and I was more or less pulling for Romney...

Update: Powell's son, Michael, who is the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, has also endorsed McCain. The Lame Stream Media, of course, doesn't care.

CBS = Clueless Brainless Stupid

Via The Weekly Standard Blog, CBS news has made the earth shattering discovery that a bunch of McCain supporters holding a sign saying "I am Joe the Plumber" are really McCain supporters dressed like plumbers named Joe.

Research on whether John F. Kennedy was a Berliner (or a jelly doughnut) is developing...

I Think It Should Be Supported

The folks in San Francisco will be voting next month on a measure that asks whether a local sewage plant should be renamed after President Bush. (via)

Even though the measure is intended to be a slight by the deranged Left, I actually think it will have an opposite effect if approved. After all, what do sewage plants do? They clean up crap. Figuratively speaking, San Francisco is full of it.

Add Peggy Noonan to the Center-Right Snob List

A nice takedown of Noonan's anti-Palin elitism at Stop Global Laming.

David Letterman: Obamoid

John McCain did a crappy job on Letterman last night of defending Sarah Palin for the absolutely true remark she made that Barry Zero pals around with terrorists. Although McCain managed to blurt out the word "unrepentant," he didn't aggressively follow up on it and basically let Letterman get away with the standard Obamoid defense that The One was just 8 years old when Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn were bombing federal buildings in the early '70s. When Letterman mindlessly said this, McCain should have looked him seriously in the eye and said, "Dave, please tell me when William Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, stopped holding the verified status of terrorist."

Follow Up: In the video above, Letterman tries to trivialize the significance of Obama's affiliation with Bill Ayers by bringing up John McCain's past association with G. Gordon Liddy, one of the "plumbers" in the Watergate scandal. I just saw Alan "Skeletor" Colmes parrot this line in an exchange with a guest on Fox. How it is that Obamoids like Letterman and Colmes can compare someone who was duly convicted and served his time in prison for burglary with an unrepentant terrorist who spent years as a fugitive from the law, is beyond me. Apples and oranges are clearly indistinguishable to the Left.

If Obama Wins, They're Right

And it 'aint good.
US communists say their time has come

A rare bird in the political world, the US Communist Party is feeling rather smug in these days of capitalist turmoil.

At the party's New York headquarters on 23rd Street in Manhattan, regional party chairman Libero Della Piana, 36, laid out why he thinks Marxist-Leninism's time has finally come.

"We are very excited, we feel that we are at a turning point," Della Piana, an imposing half-Italian, half-African American with a pony tail, told AFP.

"We can afford to be less on the defensive for the first time since Ronald Reagan, and we can say our word in rebuilding America on a new basis, rebuilding a better world, instead of one based on the greed of the few."

(...)

There is no communist running for the White House and the Communist Party does not endorse Democrat Barack Obama.

Yet many staff here wore his picture on lapel buttons, while Republican John McCain was relegated to a box of tissues -- the tissues being pulled through his mouth.

Pepperdine University is Switzerland

Got the following in my e-mail box today. Perhaps it mistakenly went to my spam folder, but I'm sure a similar memo was distributed when the Caruso Family Chair and Professor of Constitutional Law at Pepperdine University, Douglas W. Kmiec, not only publicly endorsed Barack Obama for President, but has repeatedly defended said endorsement in some of the most mind bending ways imaginable.

RE: University Neutrality and the 2008 Election

DATE: October 15, 2008

As many of you are aware, a series of political ads on radio and TV has drawn much unwanted attention to Pepperdine. The ads, advocating for Proposition 8, feature one of our professors and lists his affiliation with the University.

I want to convey the following concerning this matter: Pepperdine University remains steadfastly neutral during election periods in all political campaigns, and this includes the debate over Prop 8.

We respect our faculty, staff, and students' right to be involved in the political process; indeed, we encourage engagement in the political process.

The Yes on 8 Campaign is using the Pepperdine name in a manner in which we do not approve. We asked the campaign to separate more clearly their partisan cause from our University's name, but they refused.

We ask all who are affiliated with the University to take care not to implicate the University in their respective political causes.

Finally, we ask our students, faculty, and staff to help clear up misunderstandings with those who may ask concerning Pepperdine's perceived role in a campaign in which it is not involved.

We appreciate your understanding, assistance, and patience during what has been a trying time for many at Pepperdine. I urge you to familiarize yourself with the 2008 candidates and issues, and vote your conscience.

Picking Up Where Obama Left Off

Congressman John "American Soldiers are Murderers" Murtha had this to say about the religion and gun clinging folks of Western Pennsylvania (via):

"There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area."

Even if for the sake of argument that's true, what does it say about Murtha, whom Western Pennsylvanians have elected to Congress 17 times?
